This might seem a stupid question but do you directly vote for the President or rather vote for a state rep (and therefore indirectly for a leader of a party)?

In theory we vote directly for the president. But then there's super delegates, the electoral college, etc.

I suggest voting third party, any third party. Bipolar politics does not work well. We are getting there here and it is not a pretty sight.
