Easily noted by using a smiley I would think.Woden Kyn wrote:Nope, your all wrong. <--That's supposed to be a sarcastic joke, I know that text does not add emotion required to get this, some will be offended by it, so I added this note.

Re: Libertarians
we don't have a true democracy here. We have a democratic republic. The majority can have slavery to their hearts content, but they don't get to vote it into law, because it violates constitution. Re: I do not refer to the Aesir as Gods, what's your take.
Also, a question: is there a collective word for all of the Norse gods? The Æsir seems very specific to me, but perhaps I'm over-complicating things. Æsir just means gods. I know some like to separate them into Æsir and Vanir, but linguistically Áss means "a god" and Æsir is the plural of...

Why reconstruct? Take what is important and apply. Because reconstruction provides us with a solid foundation for our belief system. Re: Possiblities
Although there does not appear to be any connection other than the similar sound of Aesir and Assur, it is hard to disregard that two completely different cultures with different languages from different language families used a word to describe themselves that sounds so close Similar sounding word...

Re: Possiblities
I would need to see more evidence to link the neanderthal interbreeding with homo sapiens and the stories of the north before concluding anything. Anything is possible, but I do not find it likely.

Re: Help with North
I suspect your feelings of anxiety are due to the indoctrination you've had. When I first left christianity, I still had a few hangups leftover(I still thought a pentagram was an evil symbol for example). It will take time to let go of the baggage. I know of one heathen who still believes in a Jesus...
