Our group has become (for our martial study) an affiliate of Hurstwic and we are researching and experimenting with traditional viking combat weapons and techniques. Dr. William Short of Hurstwic, the foremost professor in these matters, has produced a series of DvD's where his group at the Higgins Armourial Museum have worked very hard to demonstrate the style with moves directly from the sagas. We have in the last few months come across a few revelations of how things might have been done ourselves at Athena Tyr group. If anyone wishes to explore the viking style, the weapons, mindset, or even the way the religion merges with combat, I would be very interested in discussing it.
