Right but what kind? I meen do you think only northern europeans can hear the gods call (Folkish (more to it than just that but id say thats the basic idea) or do you think anyone can be a heathen (basically a universalist)

Re: Folkish/Universalist Poll
No. Genetics are pretty much irrelevant to my belief system.JeffSinger wrote:Thats Folkish (basically)
One can believe Heathenry isn't a universal worldview or belief system, without using parentage as a factor. The whole folkish/universal is a false dichotomy. I believe culture is the determining factor as to whether someone could or should be heathen. Culture transcends the artificial concept of "race"(in reality there's only one race, it's called the human race). In history it is well-known that foreign born people have been adopted into another culture. And it's possible to assimilate into another culture. Folkways need the cultural context from which they are formed, without this cultural context it becomes a plug n play religion and is essentially meaningless. This is why in reconstruction of the heathen folkway, studying the culture is at the heart of the foundations of belief.
Some people would call this tribalist.

I agree, but i also have to say biology and culture are often intertwined. But yea if like a black dude was raised in germanic culture i wouldnt give a crap if he was a heathen (not like the nazitru) but i think you should always look to your own blood culture first
