Ethics and Outcomes

Post by schwarzesonne »

Heathens have long held to the notion that our actions today will altar both our luck and our reputations tomorrow. In Irminenschaft we refer to this phenomenon as Garma, a term coined by Guido von List obviously taken from the Sanskrit word “karma”.

How directly do people here believe this process may be viewed? Could we say, for example, something happened to a person or nation because of their poor Garma? Or, when tough things happen in life are these just parts of our urdeli (OS “ordeal”), giving us the opportunity to build our magan and our êra?

I would argue that both are true to some degree, and that it's not an either/or proposition. That, instead, one leads to the other. But that still leaves us with the question of whether we can view and interpret these things or if they are generally to subtle for human beings to recognize...

I also think both are true.
