Thor Movie

What do y'all think of the Thor movie? Gonna see it?

I'm probably gonna go see it when it comes out. I'm not gonna view it as anything but a movie based on a comic book. Since I don't read comic books, I don't really care if it's accurate to the comic book or not. I also don't mind that it's not accurate to the lore, which is what the comic is based on, since my standards for hollywood are not very high(as we've seen from all the beowulf movies).

I certainly think it would be awesome if hollywood came out with a movie that does follow the lore; I doubt it'll ever happen unless you get a heathen production company(and even then you know there'll be heathens that find somethng wrong with it, hehe).

Thor movie:
No idea. I'll see what it's like when it comes out.

Beowulf movies:
Beowulf and Grendel was actually pretty good. It seemed more like a "truth behind the legend" type of movie.

No way, I thought Beowulf and Grendel sucked. Gerard Butler's Beowulf was a lot better, imo. Aside from the weird red headed chick, that movie was real good.

That's the one I'm talking about. It's called Beowulf and Grendel. It's on my DVD rack.

Oh right, I confused the title with the CGI movie.

I never even had the desire to see the cgi one. It looks like crap.

Yes but that was at least better than Syfy's attempt at a "Thor" movie. Anyone else see that gem? Yet another reason I'm apprehensive about the one Marvel is putting out.

Syfy's movies are 99% crap and, IMO, don't even qualify as professional movies. None of them really measure up.

As for the Marvel movie, just remember that it's a movie about the comic book character, NOT about "our" Thor, and you'll be fine.

I've heard people complain about the black Heimdall.

Yeah, and in one of the storylines for the comic, (after Ragnarok, I believe, when the god are scattered and hiding in human bodies) Heimdall IS shown as black. Again, it's based off the comic, NOT the lore.

Some people get way too worked up over something that's based off a comic that's loosely based on myth...
