Greetings
New to heathenism/Asatru. My question is how does the average heathen view heathenism/Asatru? Is it more a religion with the honoring of the gods and its associated rituals or is it more a philosophy as expressed through the nine noble virtues and using the stories of the gods as morality tales? Trying to figure things out so any input is appreciated.
Back ground on me. Born and raised Catholic but finally decided against a life as a slave. Found Asatru through the nine noble virtues. I am at a point in my life where it seems either there are no gods at all or that every god exists. That being said I refuse to worship a god who treats his followers like cattle for his own self-aggrandizement.
Once again any thoughts on this issue are appreciated.
