It's the most wonderful tiiiiiime of the year. I'm all excited and I plan to decorate this weekend.

Share some Geol(Yule) traditions you do every year.

As for me, I decorate the tree with my daughter, and at the end she puts up the tree topper. It's tradition in our family for the youngest to put the topper on at the end. Last year we had two trees hehe, so she got to do it twice.

It is a pretty fun time of the year, overall. Of course I always get pissed off at the xians who start that crap about the conspiracy to "take Christ out of Christmas"... which is followed by various neopagans saying "we had it first"... when in fact, we had it first.

I don't so much dig the commercialism, either. But there's just sort of a festive spirit that seems to float around this time of the year... plus we have tons of food at work that people bring in. I always record several versions of "A Christmas Carol" and of course we leave the TV on for the annual 24 hour-run of "A Christmas Story". My wife likes to leave the xmas music playing 24/7 and it's kind of grown on me... even the xian songs (except that stupid one about the dying women getting new shoes to go see Jesus in!)

Yea I never liked the shoe one.
